Major Moore is a 1995 National Trail High School and a 2002 graduate of the Sinclair Community College Basic Peace Officer Academy. After grMOORE_B_101aduating from the Peace Officer Academy in 2002, Major Moore worked for the West Alexandria Police Department as a part-time patrol officer. In March of 2003, he became a full-time officer with the New Paris Police Department. Moore currently commands the Communications Division of the Sheriff's Office, where he is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Communications / 911 Center.
Major Moore began his career with the Preble County Sheriff's Office in October of 2003 and has worked as a Corrections Officer and a Deputy Sheriff. Major Moore was a Deputy Sheriff assigned to the Road Patrol division for 10 years. During Major Moore's time as a Road Patrol Deputy, he became a Field Training Officer, Taser Instructor, Less Lethal Munitions Instructor, OC Instructor and Detraction Devices Instructor, as well as one of the departments Property Room custodians.
Major Moore received the Preble County Sheriff's Office "Outstanding Employee Award" in 2007 and 2014 for the Road Patrol/Investigations Division.
Major was elected to Eaton City Council in November of 2013. He currently serves as the President of the Floyd E Spitler Fraternal Order of Police Lodge Number 158, he has served in this capacity since 2009.
Major Moore resides in the city of Eaton with his wife, Melinda and their two children, Harper and Raegan.
