or holidays by calling the above number or 911.
The Preble Job & Family Services Agency is the
mandated agency responsible for investigating
complaints of abuse or neglect of children in Preble
County. The social worker will work with all family
members to determine options to eliminate the
concerns of the referral and to strengthen the
family unit. There are times when the social worker
must intervene in the family by involving the legal
system for the protection of the child. Through all
types of legal intervention, the goal remains to
provide services to the family to meet their needs
in order to eliminate the risk to the child; reunify
the child with their family; or provide permanency
and stability to children through the adoption
process.
ADULT PROTECTIVE SERVICES (APS)
Services for adults 60 years of age or older at risk
of abuse, neglect or exploitation. Investigation of
a report will be initiated within 24 hours if an
emergency exits; otherwise, the investigation will
be made within 3 working days. All reporting
information remains confidential. The caseworker
will work with the adult, family and/or neighbors to
arrange for services to assist the adult to remain
safely in his/her home.
PREVENTION, RETENTION & CONTINGENCY (PRC)
Local program to provide benefits and services to
needy families to help overcome immediate barriers
in achieving or maintaining self-sufficiency;
prevent reliance on and diversion from ongoing cash;
and overcome present crisis. To be eligible, there
must be a child in the group or a pregnant woman.

current Federal Poverty Level. Resources are
considered for eligibility. An application and
